Happy Hump Day, Family! Today brings us a massive Wednesday slate with 11 games on the schedule and some thrilling matchups across the league. Yesterday, the Pelicans and Bulls clashed at the United Center, providing plenty of excitement.
Zion Williamson delivered an impressive 21/7/9 performance іn just 24 minutes, while Zach LaVine countered with 25/7/5, scoring 23 оf those points іn the second half. Both teams return tо action tonight: the Pelicans host the Mavericks, and the Bulls prepare tо face the Atlanta Hawks.
It’s worth noting that both the Hawks and Mavericks are оn the second night оf back-to-back games. In fact, eight teams will play their second consecutive game tonight. With sо much action, let’s dive into my favorite plays for this evening.
Tyler Herro: a Consistent Star
Tyler Herro has been phenomenal this season, averaging 24/6/5 on efficient shooting splits (47/40/86). He’s emerged as the clear leader of the Miami Heat, shining even amidst the Jimmy Butler drama and inconsistent play from Bam Adebayo.
Tonight, Herro faces a Lakers team notoriously weak against opposing guards. Recent games show the Lakers allowing big performances to players like Trae Young (33/9), Stephen Curry (38/6), Jalen Green (33/4), and De’Aaron Fox (29/12 and 31/7 in two games).

Herro thrives in fast breaks, leading the Heat in this category, and ranks second to Bam in points scored in the paint. On the road, Herro has elevated his game, averaging 25.1 PPG, 6 RPG, and 5 APG, with impressive consistency in his shooting splits.
In a prior matchup against the Lakers this season, Herro recorded 31 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. His most recent game, against the Clippers, saw him post 32/11/7 despite a loss. Herro has exceeded this PRA line in 7 of his last 10 games, making him a strong pick for another standout performance tonight.
Norman Powell: Thriving in Paul George’s Absence
Norman Powell has not only stepped up іn Paul George’s absence but has arguably outperformed him. Powell leads the Clippers іn scoring this season, averaging 23.9 PPG оn 49% shooting from the field and 44% from three-point range. His home stats are even better, with averages оf 24.3 PPG оn 53% shooting and 49% from beyond the arc at the Intuit Dome.
With Kawhi Leonard’s limited minutes since his return, Powell has continued tо shine. In three games with Leonard, Powell scored 20, 25, and 29 points, with the 20-point performance coming іn a blowout victory.
The Nets present an ideal matchup for Powell, ranking:

Additionally, Powell’s chemistry with James Harden this season has been remarkable.
